11/18/08: E-Phi Adopts Basketball Players

Kristy Carlin, #1 Jeremy Dunbar, #22
Delta Tau Delta is proud to adopt Kristy Carlin and Jeremy Dunbar from Southeastern's Basketball teams. Each organization at Southeastern was given the opportunity to adopt a basketball player to help support during the 2008-2009 basketball season. Epsilon Phi was very lucky in receiving two outstanding players.
Kristy Carlin is a 6-0 Senior Forward from Walker, Louisiana where she attended Walker High School. Kristy's basketball honors include: 2007-08 All-Southland Conference (Honroable Mention) & 2006-07 UNO Lady Privateer Invitational All-Tournament Team. In the 2007-08 season Kristy played in 28 games, making 19 starts. Kristy established herself as one of the Southland Conference's top post players, earning honroable mention All-Southland Conference honrors.
Jeremy Dunbar is a 6-5 Sophomore from Niceville, Florida where he attended Walton High School. Jeremy's basketball honors include: 2007-08 he appeared in eight games for Southeastern, before missing the remainder of the season with an illness. He obtained a medical redshirt and will have three years of eligibility remaining. Jeremy averaged 6.1 points per game and connected on 41 percent of his 3-point attempts.

10/18/08: Homecoming 2008
The Gentlemen of Epsilon Phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity would like to support their men in the 2008 Homecoming Elections. Those men that are running are: Senior Christopher Barcelona, Junior Shane Firmin, Senior Matt Perrin, & Junior Clifton Speed. Elections begin Monday October 6th at 8:00a.m. through Wednesday October 8th at 4:30. Winners will be announced on Wednesday October 8th at 4:45p.m. Homecoming is on Saturday October 18th. All are welcome for all the events. Parade starts at 2:00p.m. that day and the Delt Homecoming tailgate will begin following the parade. All family and friends are invited to come and celebrate with us. The Gentlemen of Epsilon Phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity would like to invite all to their annual Family Day. Family Day is this Sunday at The Delt House (located in Greek Village, down the road from the University Center) beginning at 1:00p.m. All family members, alumni, & friends are invited. We will be boiling crawfish as well as BBQ. All is invited and encourage to enjoy an afternoon with the Brothers of Epsilon Phi.

The Gentlemen of Epsilon Phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, will be working their booth next weekend in the Louisiana Strawberry Festival. The Brothers of E-Phi will be selling: drinks, fried pickles, fried oakra, corn nuggets, and red beans & rice. Fun begins next Friday April 11th at 4:30p.m.
The Strawberry Festival will officially kick off Saturday morning at 9:30a.m. The parade consists of over 90 units starting at the Lions Club, and travels west on Pine Street, next at 7th Street then the parade turns left and travels 2 blocks to Kiwanis Park.

Two Gentlemen of Epsilon Phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, Shane Firmin & Trey Scott, were selected to this years Capital Leadership Academy held in Washington DC. Truth, Courage, Faith and Power are the principles of Delta Tau Delta. These same principles are found in the foundation of our country and the building blocks of our democracy and freedom. At the Capital Academy in Washington, DC Shane & Trey had the opportunity to combine their patriotism and deltism with fellow brothers from around the country.
The Capital Academy curriculum was based around the Seven Habits of Highly Effective College Students and expands into the streets of Washington, DC with visits to many of DC's landmarks. Each night was ended with a discussion of our Principles and what this fraternity is all about on the steps of DC's famous monuments.
A non-refundable $200 registration fee was required once the invitation to attend the Delt Capital Academy is accepted. After this, all costs associated with attending the Leadership Academy was paid by the Fraternity. The academey was Thursday March 13th through Monday March 17th.

This summer Delta Tau Delta will be offering two Leadership Academies.

2/25/08: Success in South Carolina
The Gentlemen of Epsilon Phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity was anxious to attend this years Delta Tau Delta Southern Division Conference held in Spartanburg, South Carolina. At the conference, our members attended workshops on leadership qualifications, chapter management, & personal development. This also gives our members to meet other Delts from chapters across the South. The conference is a summary of the previous year and a kick off to the new year. Epsilon Phi was proud to bring 22 out of 30 men to Southern Division; the largest group at conference.
At the conclusion of Southern Division there is an award banquet which the Gentlemen of Epsilon Phi were truly proud to be an E-Phi Delt. Epsilon Phi won several awards:

Gene Pregeant, E-Phi 149 & Chapter Advisor, answered the following when asked about the awards won at Southern Division.
"Epsilon Phi certainly had an outstanding division conference. It is always rewarding to see a chapter recognized for its accomplishments. However, the awards only reinforced what I already knew, that the brothers of Epsilon Phi are outstanding representatives for their local chapter, the national fraternity and their university. I am very proud to be their advisor."
Overall the weekend was a huge success with meeting brothers from around the divison to bonding with your own local brothers for twelve plus hours in a car.

2/9/08: Think Pink, more than just a Win

The Gentlemen of Epsilon Phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity was proud to paint up on Saturday for the Women's basketball game versues Lamar. It was Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team's chance to do its part to raise breast cancer awareness and promote the game of women's basketball with the
"Pack the House for Pink" promotion in conjunction with its Southland Conference contest with Lamar. The Lady Lions defeated Lamar 73-67.
After the game coach Lori Jones rewarded the loyal fans of Epsilon Phi by bringing them into the locker room. In the locker room the brothers of Epsilon Phi were welcomed by the players, staff, & breast cancer survivors. The brothers were able to take pictures with the team & congratulate the ladies on their victory.

2/8/08: $1,226.00 Raised for Koins-4-Kids thus Far
The Gentlemen of Epsilon Phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity is proud to announce that they have raised $1,226.00 thus far for Koins-4-Kids.
Koins for Kids is a program designed to help raise money for our Adopt-a-School, Natalbany Elementary School. The school is in need of new computers and other materials. We have placed coin collectors around town and have described this new program to Hammond locals.
1/31/08: Jam the Jungle was a huge success Thursday night as the Gentlemen of Epsilon Phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity led the crowd to cheer on the lions to victory. Southeaster won 70-62 versues Central Arkansas.
1/24/08: The Gentlemen of Epsilon Phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity took a road trip down to New Orleans, LA and worked four hours to stuff the floats for an upcoming Mardi Gras Parade.
1/22/08: Students pilled in as Epsilon Phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta opened its doors Tuesday night to students, faculty, and staff. The Gentlemen of Delta Tau Delta would like to thank all of those who attended to make this event a huge sucess.
